I thought it was time to make a Twitch trailer, a selection of the kind of crap that I take on stream, random singing / laughter / bad jokes / banging the keyboard / dying inside.
Plus the song everyone loves.
All this and very much less on www.twitch.tv/thegenesiste...

The first console to appear in Italian cinema was (probably) the Seleco-Zanussi Gun-o-tronic, showing up in 1976 Il Signor Robinson (Mr. Robinson).
The Gun-o-tronic was the official gun accessory for the Ping-o-tronic, an early Italian Odyssey clone released around early 1975.

Interesting how the movie portrays games as the worst kind of mindless entertainment, the main hobby of bored rich people. While that might have been an easy target in the 80s or 90s (especially for Italy), for 1976 that is quite advanced.

What about writing to the Pope to pitch a new design for that ol' dusty Sistine Chapel?

There was something about the original The Sims and its random, unusual events that few other games seem able to replicate. It felt like being immersed in true suburban horror.
This phone call with that mf weird laughing mask lives rent-free in my head.
Phone call from The Sims "You have been chosen. They will come soon".

“Why isn’t anyone covering our indie games?”

1. The gaming press has been decimated by business suits, and the whims of an uncaring search engine behemoth
2. Doing the job means you get death threats and harassment
3. There are more games released in 1 week than there were in entire months in 2015

I've mostly given up on it

Rather, gaming press has been basically killed off. It was never an easy job, but I would never recommend it to anyone in good faith, unless they have another job to support themselves.

Thank Google and AI for killing the main source of revenue for all medium and small websites.
The few big websites left are just focusing on big stuff that gets them views, so no one wants to report on smaller things (unless you are writing them for free).

But take no part in it whatsoever

Finishing Nightmare on Elm Street NES on stream was an experience, especially because I started out saying "this game is not that bad", and by the end I was literally insulting it.
A couple of good design decisions were underutilized and a lot of laziness, not worth your time.

Luckily the great design in Skool Daze allowed you to have fun even while ignoring the objective. So instead of feeling "lost" you could just experiment and while away the hours.

What's worse than a nightmare? TWO.
Tonight I'm playing Nightmare on Elm Street NES + DOS back to back, to see which one will break me faster and make me its bitch.

Gloveless Freddy on NES Freddy with glove on DOS

That artstyle reminds me of the Zorro GBC game, which is probably worse than the Capstone DOS one. Quite the tall order.

It is apparently one of my most popular articles (*sigh*) so, in case you were ever curious about the PC-98 horror series Dead of the Brain, I did a little write-up a couple of years ago on these two cult classic VN titles.

Dead of the Brain 1 & 2 - The Nightmare Never Ends
Horror PC-98 adventures Dead of the Brain 1 and 2 were developed by a company specialised in erotic games. But are they a decent proposition?

I confess to using "winos" several times on my last few streams because an adventure game from 1984 reminded me of the existence of that word.
