ChatGPT's psych profile of me based on all chats:

"You're not trying to make art for an audience. You're trying to design a world where the audience and the art become the same thing - and you're struggling with the fact that the real world requires you to behave like they're separate first."

The flaw I see in this is that journalists are not the only profession that informs the people and holds government accountable. Artists do it too.

The current system concentrates artistic exposure and influence in the elite body and denies the people the means to practice craft at similar levels.
Our founders, though deeply flawed, understood that democracy requires an informed citizenry and a government accountable to it people. That’s why the press is the only profession protected by the Constitution. It’s also why autocrats and oligarchs seek to control and destroy it.

So, in high school I got a bit into "Illuminati and Freemasons in the music industry" conspiracy theories. The imagery and symbolism that Beyoncé and Gaga use has always been quite interesting to me. (Roc Nation!)

But I set that stuff aside. It was unserious, illogical, unreasonable. Right?

Someone remind me what all those Catholic priests got caught doing.

And how many youth pastors?

It's almost like it's endemic to the religion itself.
I'm not being flippant, but as long as we're on topic:

You know who else raped a 14 year old girl and then ritualistically sacrificed the child?

The Christian God. The Almighty Father.

...

Are we coming around on this being a demonic religion yet?

As an abuse survivor, I'm pretty nervous about the reaction I'm seeing from people who "just don't understand" how we got here.

I lost 95% of my friends when I finally named what my ex had done. Some of them, the white men, immediately had his back. In this metaphor, they're MAGA.

Welp, now I find out that my favorite independent art supply store, which houses my favorite local black box theater, is closing at the end of March.

Really feels like the tech oligarchs are succeeding at wiping all of the creative weirdos out of the Bay.
The progressive values here have been so thoroughly stamped out and the community is so ran through by wealthy tech oligarchs that Lurie and Benioff convinced Trump to stay out.

Wouldn't want to disrupt *this* immigrant community. So many of them are hard at work powering the surveillance state.

It's been difficult to respond to what's being unearthed right now, because I listen to Black and Indigenous women so I knew this is where we'd end up and I don't have anything of value to add.

I'm horrified but not at all surprised. Hell, Oops, All Witches was my (tame) take on this history.

Holy shit, this was the beginning of the end of independent journalism in the US. Gawker died, and then we watched every other outlet collapse into each other until everything left was owned by private equity vulture capitalists or billionaires.
Among the batch of newly released emails from Jeffrey Epstein: Epstein telling Peter Thiel he would “gladly share…expenses for the Gawker suit.”

This was sent the day after @rmac.bsky.social and @mattdrange.bsky.social reported in Forbes that Thiel was behind the lawsuit that would bankrupt Gawker

What's your name?

I'm Sara Brink. I ran for AD15 in 2020 just for the opportunity to point out that Buffy Wicks bought that seat with Ron Conway's money. He spent about my whole year's salary supporting her in 2018 - for him, the equivalent of the price of a latte for me.

Identify yourself.
Billionaires get a bad rap. But most of them make our lives much better.

The proposed CA Billionaire Tax Act is a tax on unrealized gains and is already driving founders out of the state.

Motherfucker ...

I reiterate once again that the Bay Area is not progressive, and the normal people here are in danger.

I want this to be a joke.

Who else remembers the full page ad Trump ran in the NYT against the Central Park 5?

Remember what he called for? Remember what he thinks is appropriate punishment for rape?

And that was one adult woman, let alone scores of children.

What if — just hear me out — we only allow Natives to govern for a bit moving forward.

Cause if I can tell ya one thing, it’s this:

Out of every demented, fcked up thing in those files, Native people will not be in it. Because Native people don’t have money or power here.

See the correlation?

But, you see, men are scared to approach women now and they are so lonely.
I keep thinking again, in light of the latest Epstein files dump, about how MeToo “went too far.”

The “forefathers” of America didn’t call us “Merciless Indian Savages” in the Declaration of Independence for nothing.

Your leaders — all of your presidents — have been doing what’s in those Epstein Files to Native people here since day ONE.

It’s the original “Every accusation is a confession.”

Infuriating.

The same year the city of Oakland established a local film incentive, ONE SINGLE COP made $500K in unaccounted-for overtime reviewing collision reports, making his total compensation higher than the incentive's $600K budget.

Guess which got cut due to city budget shortfalls.

At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.

You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.
