Damn, not been here for a while.

Anyway, I’m releasing the first chapter of the low fantasy feudal Japan inspired feminist action vengeance thriller thingy tomorrow on Wattpad.

Will share the link when it’s out.

Gundam GQuuuuuuX started as an anime about a burgeoning teenage throuple getting involved in robot fights that turns into a political thriller than then has a cosmic mind bender added to it all in the space of 12 half an hour episodes.

I don’t know what form of neurodivergence it’s a part of but I find myself trying to live like certain fictional characters after a piece of media has deeply touched me. It happened a lot as a teen after playing Life is Strange and wanting to be Max (I don’t know why, 15yo me saw myself in her.)

The USA is a nation built upon stolen land. Any form of opposition to immigration to it cannot be taken seriously.

For as long as Gaiman and Rowling are alive I’m going to do my best to just not engage with any of their works. Death of the Author as a concept doesn’t work while the authors are still benefitting from your money and engagement.

If Maelle really was a truly talented Paintress she’d have painted herself a Label 1886 rifle and domed Renoir at the start of the boss fight.

Okay so, Last of Us season 2:
Cool and interesting choices made with the adaptation. I do like that more of the group are onside with Ellie’s mentality. I like that Ellie isn’t at Dina’s throat immediately about a certain thing. The infected sequences have all been phenomenal.

TLoU S2 ep 6 was close to perfect, but that patrol scene got me thinking of what I initially hoped the show would do.

I was hoping it would flesh out the 5 years between the first and second game’s stories even more. Let things breath a bit, a season of new material in Jackson.

If you’d have told me 5 years ago that I’m currently more excited by a Gundam anime every week than new episodes of the show based on my favourite video games he’d have called you mad. But yet here we are. GQuuuuuuuuX fuckin rules

Honestly, the fact that Ellie isn’t acting like a colossal bitch to Dina when she reveals a certain thing is so good.

Mazin is very mindful that this is a TV show for a wider audience and I think certain changes have been made in response to how certain things were done in the game.

No, I’m sorry, if you’re telling people posting cat photos is a distraction from the real issues, you’re a Fed and you’re trying to make the movement eat itself.

Because of it being ‘that’ episode for The Last of Us, I think it needs to be reiterated, The Last of Us is, and always was, Ellie’s story.

This’ll probably sound weird but the more The Last of Us TV show deviates from the game, the more I’m enjoying it as its own thing.

Or maybe I’m just older and can appreciate an adaptation/reinterpretation.

Same thing happened with the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

I've seen some people saying how "AI"-generated text is now as good as certain published authors, and honestly I think it's really brave for these folks to admit in public how poor their reading comprehension has to be

I genuinely quite liked the structural changes in the first episode of season 2 for TLoU. Part 2 is such a strange structural mess that this almost feels like it’s the final draft the game needed.

I also just think that Part 2’s story lends itself so much better to TV than a game.

America doesn’t deserve to talk about freedom and democracy anymore. Their president just flat out betrayed those ideals in the space of a minute.
