Sadly true. And these are often folks who can afford to hit up a hobby or semi-pro artist on vgen or elsewhere for logos and banners.
As Ravanal says further down their thread, these are peeps lionizing the past while freely using the horrors of the current time and making it worse.

When it comes to the usage of GenAI, retro gamers like youtubers and people making assets for fangames for specific engines and frontends might be the biggest offenders. Every addon software for stuff like EmulationStation, Batocera, etc. are now using AI generated logos or thumbnails for their shit
