I suppose someone from the former empire that invented the trans-Atlantic slave trade has some experience with this kind if thing happening to them. The Hawaiian in me constantly wants to tell Brits to autofornicate.

The hype around AI makes me think about the hype around what ended up being the Segway, only nobody's admitting they were wrong in their predictions of needing to redesign society around AI like they did with "It".

Well this ticks are lot of my boxes.
hi! we're Soín, a queer studio from Brazil and we're making @lunr.rdio.taxi a mix of drifting and rhythm we are calling DRIFTHM!

you play as an app driver trying to pay an infinite debt in a hypercapitalistic BrazaFunk future where AIs dominated your market

Absolutely phenomenal sculpture. The feathers on the top of the head are perfection.
This kingfisher took absolutely everything out of me — 23.5 hours of work! As one of my favorite birds, I just had to capture its stunning turquoise plumage in wool.

The tech's most notable use cases at scale have involved fraud, harassment, suicide and CSAM. That the Very Serious Researchers didn't think to ask the very simple question "What would the world's worst people do with this technology?"...maybe they deserve a digital wedgie.
ceding AI to the right is a generational poltical mistake and bullying LLM researchers off bluesky to cook their brains in twitter racism is a self defeating and foolish act from well meaning people deluding themselves into thinking intentional ignorance is a valid form of critique and resistance

You'd be amazed how little "Idea Guys" think their ideas through. Like why am I the one bringing up the obvious legal quagmire bound to crop up around "AirBnB, but for personal storage space"?
First CES panel. Intuit CMO Thomas Ranese is proud of his company's integration with OpenAI, which involves giving AI read/write access to tax data. Since prompt injection attacks are unavoidable, I asked him who will be liable when customer data is exposed: Intuit, OpenAI, etc?

He had no idea.

It's an absurd, almost perverse sadness that we have to just go to work on Monday as if this will all sort itself out around us.

We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.
