No one should be stuck in the awful position of waiting months on end for mental health services.

It's time to supercharge mental health care in this country.
Today The Plaza celebrates 25 years since it re-opened as a Super Cinema and Variety Theatre! We're so lucky to have this in #Stockport and it was great to have a tour yesterday to learn more about the building. It brought back many memories of seeing the panto as a kid ❤️
Brilliant performance by Manchester Camerata yesterday, at Stockroom in the town centre! There were two sets of songs, as well as poetry written and performed by local teens. ❤️ #Stockport

I've never heard Gold Digger or Gangsta's Paradise played on a violin before!
Our fantastic Stockroom has a new exhibition by Casey Orr and The Proud Trust's Constellations group. It features local teens & Shirley Baker's photographs of #Stockport punks in the 1980s!

There is also a brilliant exhibition upstairs from @stanchow.bsky.social! Head down and check them out
Our @libdems.org.uk team are out every week in our community, whatever the weather!

Over the last few weeks that has included doorstep chats around #Offerton and Great Moor, as well as delivering letters on key issues like this one from Will, @tommorrisonmp.bsky.social and I. #Stockport
Loved my recent visit to Dial Park Primary!

We supported them with funding to help set up their new nursery forest school. It looks amazing and it was so good to see the kids enjoying it! ❤️

Picked up some Lib Dem stats at conference. Some of these surprised me (especially given media coverage):

1. The Liberal Democrats now control more councils than the Conservative Party

2. In May's local elections in England, the LDs elected more councillors than either Labour or the Tories.

Fantastic opportunity here for local teens aged 13-16, it sounds ace! Please share with anyone who may be interested.

If you are fed up with the two old parties letting you down.

If you are scared of the rise of racism and extremism.

If you believe in decency, tolerance and the rule of law.

Join us.

Because we believe in the British people.

We love our country.

And together, we can change it for good.

Elon Musk is no friend of our United Kingdom. He should be held to account for allowing truly vile and illegal child abuse content on his platform.

If the media reported the million serious things, the Lib Dems wouldn't need the stunts.

This is how we deliver a better, hopeful future - by being proud of who we are and never giving up our identity.

In Sussex, and the whole UK, we stand for unity over division, tolerance over hate, and hope over despair.

For too long, weak regulation has let the gambling industry profit from addiction, debt, and family breakdown.

Liberal Democrats will hold the gambling industry to account and put people before profits, so that gambling in the UK can be safe, fair, and free from harm.

Youth work changes lives and makes a real difference in communities across the UK.

It gives young people a place to belong, build skills, and believe in themselves.

But over the last decade, we’ve seen too many youth centres close their doors and youth workers leave.

It was great to hear from Council Leader Mark Roberts, Deputy Leader Jilly Julian FLPI and Tom Morrison MP how award-winning Liberal Democrat Stockport Council works with their local Liberal Democrat MPs at our 'Celebrating Success: Stockport' fringe earlier today.

Glad to see that @libdems.org.uk Conference had no more patience for hate on the agenda than it did last time. We, and Conference, saw that amendment for what it was. Thank you to everyone who voted.

Delighted that the @libdems.org.uk showed yet again that we reject the assault on trans people’s rights promoted by the small anti trans group in the party. #ldconf

We don’t talk about it much, but we are a nation of carers.

The answers to the care crisis can’t just be about tinkering with the formal systems social care as they exist. We must, as a country ask some more fundamental questions about how we can better support families.
Last week we gave £500 of area funding to residents who did their alley up to create a space to meet. The money will be used to buy planters, plants, lighting and a new bench.

Thank you to all those involved in this, it's fantastic to see it for local pride and community spirit. ❤️ #Stockport
Please share with any veterans or ex-Armed Forces personnel that you know!

This should be a great event and we have some fantastic groups and services for veterans across #Stockport. Thank you to the brilliant volunteers who make all of this possible!

I'm running for a Councillor position on the @libdems.org.uk Federal Policy Committee!

If you're a Lib Dem Cllr, I'd love your nomination please.

My main policy experience is in tackling poverty and building community power & as a #Stockport Cabinet Member I work across various issues. Thank you.
Thousands of people across #Stockport give their time to volunteer and help their neighbours and local charities.

Tomorrow is the next Stockport Volunteer Fair and you can meet some brilliant groups who make a real difference in our communities.

The horrors in Gaza must stop.

And when the one man with the power to make it stop – Donald Trump – arrives in the UK today, Keir Starmer must do all he can to make the President act.
