I wrote a piece for Jacobin about the misuse of antisemitism scholarship for authoritarian projects and the role German antisemitism scholarship plays in the dehumanisation of Palestinians and the justification of the genocide in Gaza.

Wouldn't it be great if people could vote FOR something and not always AGAINST someone?

Fear is a electoral demobilising agent. Hope and vision is a mobilising agent. Have a think around that.
Greens aren’t going to win the next election. It’s either Labour or Reform Ltd. If you vote against Labour then you’re voting for fascism. Your move.

Surely the only reason Morgan McSweeney is still in post is that Keir Starmer has no idea how to govern without him

I think this is primarily a result of the dominance of eternalism among antisemitism scholars which sees evidence of antisemitism everywhere and most prominently in utterances against Israel's policies and in Palestinian symbols. It is anything but a serious academic endeavour.
It should inspire serious reflection among liberals and institutionally liberal institutions in the US that this woman was (is still?) considered a standard-bearer on the issue of what constitutes bigotry.

Starmer never met a rake he didn't step on. Must be a fetish.
Kemi Badenoch: "Does he have the same full confidence in Morgan McSweeney that he had in Peter Mandelson?"

Keir Starmer: "Morgan McSweeney is an essential part of my team. He helped me change the Labour party and win an election" #PMQs

Find you a newspaper that loves reporting as much as The New York Times loves lionizing fascist propagandists and terrorists.

Of course the dumbest take on Chomsky's relationship with Epstein comes from Bastani.

I guess the only sensible thing to do is to declare juries terrorists. Ah, wait.
Among the defendants was Samuel Corner, whose altercation with a police officer was widely used to justify the proscription of Palestine Action. The fact that the jury, who heard the full story, didn’t convict him of a crime leaves the case for proscription in tatters.

Very good example here from The Nexus Project how you can do both, not downplay the Epstein allegations with baseless accusations of antisemitism while also pointing to actual antisemitism that needs fighting against!
THREAD 🧵:

The Epstein files are real. The antisemitism they're fueling is also real.

And right now, the second part is getting almost no attention.

Establishing ICE as a Sturmabteilung for the Trump administration was always part of the plan. Immigration was always going to work as a Trojan horse where Democrats wouldn't push back on so ICE could be normalised as a permanent presence in towns and cities.

Call me crazy but the reaction to the WaPo firing a third of its staff without reason shouldn't be 'why is the billionaire not spending more of his pocket money on a national newspaper'.

Saying you were honoured for having worked for a media corporation as a reaction to having been fired for no reason is a form of Stockholm Syndrome.

I only just came across this - it’s really important research and relevant to the controversy over the surveillance threat posed by AI.
I wrote a piece for Jacobin about the misuse of antisemitism scholarship for authoritarian projects and the role German antisemitism scholarship plays in the dehumanisation of Palestinians and the justification of the genocide in Gaza.
Germany has been one of the worst Western countries for whitewashing Israel’s genocide in Palestine. Now it wants to do it with AI.
