As much as they admire being wet and watching water, they cannot swim lol

Xochitl was able to swim up until the head injury at the beginning of the game, and is able to do so again after Emmrich confirms she's fully disconnected from Solas's, ah, 'influence'.

Not being able to swim while sailing on ships with the Lords would definitely not be a smart move, after all.

Tait couldn’t swim and avoided the sea since her escape from the Venatori galley. She was confronted by her fear again when she rescued Lucanis in the Ossuary, which led to the team (mainly Taash and Davrin, plus Lucanis for moral support) giving her like a weekly training in Rivain.

herja can't swim and was never taught. wasn't like vorgoth could slap on some trunks and help, nor is it part of the curriculum at the necropolis.

after having to fish her out of a river or pond or puddle one too many times, i think ONE of the veilguard has to pull her aside to teach her post-datv.

i think casull is the only one who *can't* swim. he has a phobia of water deeper than his ankles after the other children in his village tried to drown him in the local pond when he presented with magic.

Marcus grew up in Minrathous, which is close to the shore. It would have been dangerous if he was never taught how to swim. So yes, he can swim.

Matteo can swim too. As a Crow it would have been part of his training, plus Treviso is surrounded by water as well. Marcus (and Illario) taught him.

Being Coastlander sons of a raider and a marine it was absolutely mandatory that Cassius and Aedan learned to swim

Merriam has maybe swam a bit? But no not really

Siani does a little yeah

Fynn has to be taught post DAV by Taash lol Just holding him up in those shallow Rivani pools as he tries 🤣

For Vallira, not technically, not in the traditional sense.

She can fly ("Elvhen can fly, Solas!"/silly ref) so she technically does the same in water. However, if she lost her ability to fly, then she'd have to be taught how to actually swim and float.

Callin lives in a city full of canals. It'd be ridiculous if he didn't know how, at least enough to get himself out if he falls in.

Aravel probably swims very well, I feel like he would have had plenty of experience with his clan.

Jun cannot, never had a reason to learn, panics in water.

Nope, at least not at the beginning of DAV. Having spent pretty much her whole life in the Necropolis, Bani never got the chance to learn before her exile. Eventually, she has Taash teach her on the beaches of Rivain tho

Brook can swim and used to love swimming in lakes and ponds as a child with her siblings however she developed a fear of large deep bodies of water when he found her brother's body at 19. Sometime after the games events with Lucanis help she faces that fear and slowly starts swimming again.

Nope! D'metry can't swim for love nor money. He doesn't flail around or anything, he can hold his breath pretty well, he just has to grab into something and pull himself out XD

Lucanis tries teaching him later on but it does not work very well
Eventually Lucanis gives up and just pokes fun at it

Ketill can't swim. He's also really not a big fan of water in general.

Alek once had to force him to take a bath... you can read about that, if you want:

Going off my Warden Rook:

He does not swim well.

Nearly drowning in a pond as a child and then falling into a river in heavy armor as a Warden-Recruit has made Tavish swear off water entirely if he can avoid it.

If he has to go in the water, he complains the entire time. Dude is traumatized.

Saffron, Hawke, and Kale are all actually strong swimmers.

after all the accidental drownings in veilguard, i like it better that Kieran can't swim. a minor oversight in his otherwise thorough education lol
