One of the learning curves in pottery is learning how a finished product will feel in the hand. This one feels lovely.

Weekend work: grappling with Hamlet unit. Last year's attempt was too stodgy, & I had a hard time keeping momentum because the unit runs concurrently with the magnet program's project.

This year will have a similar schedule, but I am going to try an adapted version of the Folger method anyway.

If I had to recommend 3 things to writers (at all levels), I would start with these 3 (with options for adding more):

1. Be persistent.
2. Be curious about the world, people, history, everything. Expand your horizons. Curiosity is your soil, your ocean, your rock, your air.
3. Never stop learning.

Morpheus: You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

This year, I signed up for a pottery class because I like doing crafts and working with my hands as an antidote to the thinky work I do as a teacher. It's taken some time (and developing hand and arm strength!) but I'm finally getting consistent results. #pottery
