Another memory to share with you. Clematis play a big role in my tiny garden because they take up such a small space at ground level and flower for many weeks. Today is the last dry day for the foreseeable so I will be outside.

We have a brief respite from rain today, which will allow the sitting water to soak away. Hope you’re all safe and dry. Take care. #roses 🌱

When it rains, it now rains more.

For those experiencing the flooding in south-west England, it is worth remembering that rainfall in winter has increased by about 25% overall.

And, the rainfall has also become more intense: when it rains, it now rains more, increasing the risk of flooding.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

Magnolia alert! 🌸Spotted at Greenway, Devon.

The garden here often wakes up in January with magnolias, snowdrops, daffodils and cyclamen making an appearance. Let us know if you've spotted any of these blooming and where.

The week ahead is set to be very wet, especially in the west. Flooding is likely in places, so stay up to date with the forecast and leave extra time for your journeys ⚠️

My most frequent interaction with Proteaceae is eating macadamia nuts! 😛
Here's Macadamia integrifolia. Note how the perianth curls back to reveal the exserted style. The tip of the style scrapes pollen from the anthers as it elongates & presents the pollen to visitors. #Proteaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

Sarcococca confusa pumping out some wonderful fragrance in our Surrey, Exotic Courtyard Garden.

Sometimes called Winter Box or Sweet Box it's actually related, along with Pachysandra, to Buxus (Box / Boxwood).

Yes we do, but when someone is only interested in likes for minimal effort integrity goes out the window.
A genuine question, prompted by personal experience.
I’ve discovered someone has reposted my photographs and writing on another platform as if they created them — and even added their own watermark to some of my images.

Do we not owe artists and creators proper acknowledgement?
