I was 6, and a rerun of the TOS episode “The Ultimate Computer” was on. My mom recognized William Marshall from the Blacula movies, and invited me to watch the show with her. I’d never seen anything like it, and was hooked for life.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner was a great person, I can say from first hand experience. He gave this world 100%. This is a horrible loss.
