Being on social media is fine but if it’s getting in the way of you doing deep reading and deep thinking, then your balance of how you spend your time is off

Lots of interesting threads here and none of them are a substitute for reading a good book or essay

Had an absolute blast at STLV. I’m just getting around to the photos because I met so many amazing people. This weekend I’ll share a bit more.

While riding the B or Q trains between Dekalb Ave station and the Manhattan Bridge, you may catch a glimpse of "Masstransiscope," a public art installation by Bill Brand. It was added to the #NYCsubway system in 1980.

I came back from STLV to a tiny desk concert by OMAR?! You'd think my birthday was THIS month. Omar Lye-Fook is one of my favorite artists of all time. Get a glass of cold champagne wine and enjoy this @npr.org tiny desk concert! youtu.be/0e1ejLjjriw?...

I was 6, and a rerun of the TOS episode “The Ultimate Computer” was on. My mom recognized William Marshall from the Blacula movies, and invited me to watch the show with her. I’d never seen anything like it, and was hooked for life.

I am a jeans snob. If you’re like me and are in the cult of selvedge, you’ll appreciate this detailed take on “good jeans”.
I've had enough.

In this thread, I will tell you, definitively, whether Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.

This way, you will be more informed when shopping for your wardrobe . 🧵

This gambling thing is really going to bite us all in the ass.
Well this is depressing: People are gambling full time on the score a film will get on Rotten Tomatoes

(People are gambling full time on anything so I guess this shouldn’t come as a surprise)

Malcolm-Jamal Warner was a great person, I can say from first hand experience. He gave this world 100%. This is a horrible loss.
