Citation is the foundation of academic promotion. It’s noisy, sure, but its integrity is worth fighting for. Hallucinated citations should be a desk reject.

You probably know that a/the/an are called ‘articles.’

‘Article’ comes from the Greek ‘árthron,’ which means "connecting point, joint."

A/the/an are only ever CONNECTED to another word.

Also, newspaper ‘articles’ connect different parts of the paper.

משווה ומעלה עם חבר קומיקסאי שניסה בתחילת דרכו לקבל עבודה (שלא לומר חלטורה) כקריקטוריסט או קומיקסאי בכל עיתון אפשרי בארץ. ואחרי כמה שנים גם הצליח! אבל לפני היום הראשון, העיתון נסגר. העיתון השני שקיבל אותו נסגר כמה שבועות אחרי ההתחלה. וכך סה״כ איזה 4-5 עיתונים אאל״ט.
