I'm at the scene where ICE abducted multiple people from Lincoln and Foster this morning.

A WGN producer was among the people taken, allegedly because she was among a group of bystanders who tried to intervene. ICE agents hit this car while making their getaway.

Sometimes I don’t even realize who they are until someone points it out! I’m using deliberate with sort of knowing but also I’ve surprised myself in being like “this is character is actually _____”. I think if you’re not pulling inspo from everything, you’re doing it wrong

A great tip for developing characters is I love to figure out things like what’s their favorite food? Favorite movie? Favorite subject in school? These little details may seem insignificant to the plot but can help you really get to know these characters as you develop. #WeeknightWriters

I think just really fully understanding your characters can go a long way. If you know them well enough you can throw them in any situation and understand how they’d react. You can save yourself a lot of time by doing lots of pre-development with your characters. #WeeknightWriters

My process is a combination of both but I’m a firm believer of character first writing. Usually I’ll think of a preliminary hook and dive straight into creating characters. They are almost always an amalgamation of people I know, myself and inspiration from other stuff #WeeknightWriters
