I’m ten minutes into “Best Medicine.” Already seems like a total ripoff of the great series, “Northern Exposure.” Should I finish it?

Just finished the HBO documentary “Billy Joel: And So It Goes.”

One of the best damn documentaries about a musical performer I have ever seen. No holds barred, Joel’s life is laid open for good and for bad. In the end, he’s a touchstone of a generation.

How very Third Reich of them.
Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor.

One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”

The pure schadenfreude joy #Minneapolis is taking seeing this ICE SUV stuck in less than 3 inches of #snow is just everything. You really have to know #Minnesotans to know how this is antithetical to everything we are in #Winter, where we'll shovel even Packer fans out; but no help coming here. 😜

The House Judiciary Committee just released — on New Year's Eve — the 255-page transcript of Jack Smith's closed door deposition.

House Republicans continue their attempts to bury Smith's testimony.

As someone who has spent his entire career in printing and publishing, this is always sad to see. 😢
like witnessing a patient being taken off life support
Our photographer Alex Kormann captured the exact moment the presses stopped for the last time in Minneapolis, ending a 158 history of locally printed newspapers.

A perfect list. So much great television in 2025.

TV critic David Bianculli says 2025 offered so many great shows he couldn't narrow them down. But in a year of intense TV, Netflix's haunting series Adolescence, stands apart. n.pr/499a2HE

“A Biltmore Christmas” is one of Hallmark’s very best Christmas movies. So well done!

Sometimes Mr. Montgomery would partly disassemble a machine and leave it on Lundy’s bench — a test, a puzzle, a method of teaching as old as apprenticeship itself.

“It’s like Zen,” Lundy says about those hours at the bench.

In April, “Purple Rain the Musical” was held back for six months for ‘retooling.’ It’s still a fucking mess.

Bad sound, bad acting, bad pacing, bad dialogue, bad editing.

Perhaps cut out all the dialogue and play the songs. It might be tolerable. Just godawful as is.

How can you fuck up Prince?
