They won't. Labour sees a green win as a less desirable outcome than a reform win precisely because they know that greens winning signals the end of their being the presumptive home of the left vote.

Then people who previously would have voted Labour in that constituency should vote Green to keep Reform from winning. Simple.

There seems to be this assumption that Labour is entitled to the votes of every person who doesn't support Reform.

It's not.

Polanski is absolutely correct ........ Labour ceased being left wing with Tony Blair and have consistently drifted rightward since then.

Starmer would sit comfortably with the likes of Michael Heseltine, Ken Clark and Theresa May. Today's Labour is just like yesterday's Tories.

This is the simple response to the 'splitting the vote narrative.' Labour are not left-wing. Green isnt splitting the left vote, it is the only left wing option.
Robert Peston, "Wouldn't you regret Reform UK coming through in Gorton and Denton if The Greens split the left vote?"

Zack Polanski, "We cannot say that Keir Starmer's Labour would be a left wing vote"

Polly Billington was so rude to Zack on this episode of Peston. She seemed to have more smoke for him than Reform, which was telling. Not once did she even mention Reform, which is worrying, considering her seat might become a Reform seat. (East Thanet.)

I actually went and checked it really said this…

Obviously they were too cowardly to go on record - I mean, who'd want to admit publicly to being "pro-Starmer" - but yes, the person this unnamed Labour MP hates most in politics is @zackpolanski.bsky.social

Out of all the people to choose 🤔
February 7, 2026 at 11:07 AM
@zackpolanski.bsky.social I would love you Zack to start really criticising that awful right wing lot (cabal?) round Starmer- I think you know who I mean. Harold Wilson once said for Labour to fly it needs to embrace two wings. Labour have cut off the Left wing. No wonder we Greens are on the rise.

This is overt racism. Full stop. There’s no ‘misinterpretation’ and no excuse. This is who he is, who he’s always been, and why he should never be anywhere near power again. And there’s a reason the tapes from The Apprentice have never been released.
February 6, 2026 at 8:26 AM
@mrjamesob.bsky.social surely the reason why we Greens are growing is because many of us feel Starmer has betrayed us - those of us on the Left. #lbc @skynewsrss.bsky.social
February 6, 2026 at 10:39 AM
@mrjamesob.bsky.social the guy didn't put it very well but he has a point James. Didn't Starmer get leadership of Labour because he promised the same policies as Jeremy Corbtn who he described as his friend? Then went back on those promises and is backed by very right wing Blairites - yes? #lbc
