Thank you all for your patience with my political posts. The news is often overwhelming and then I find it really, really hard to write. The @greenparty.org.uk helps me hope - & write - again. The Green Party wants to work with other NATO countries to build a new agreement, one that doesn't rely on Trump because Trump is fundamentally unreliable. Zack's not talking about just 'withdrawing'. He's talking about planning a better way.

Yes, and the offhand way he said 'you can look it up on the BMA website...' - well, I did. I hope everyone does. @zackpolanski.bsky.social was the only one there telling the truth, as far as I could tell, though James Murray just looked miserable and I can't really remember what he said. 😂

She was so sanctimonious, but only towards Zack. Her accusation of 'ad hominum attacks' when the only ad hominum attacks I could see were directed AT Zack was unbearable.

I thought @zackpolanski.bsky.social was brilliant on #BBCQT tonight despite a hostile panel and personal attacks. Calling out fascism and racism rather than blaming immigrants, calling for a wealth tax rather than blaming poor and disabled people for needing a properly funded welfare system.

Zia Yusuf says the shortage of jobs for young doctors is due to immigrants. My understanding it's due to lack of govt funding/planning for enough necessary specialist training positions. The NHS is crying out for more doctors and we have the workforce, but jobs haven't been put in place. #bbcqt

I always thought my ancient Browning in eleven volumes was a complete set. But of course, who would make a set of eleven volumes? Twelve is a number with much more gravitas. Anyway, yes, second hand is best. Failing all else, there's Project Gutenberg, but I do like reading poetry from a page.

I hope the women who want to criminalise a whole section of society might stop to think. Maybe instead of forcing other humans into real and undeserved danger, they could do some fact checking and open their minds enough to join the Greens in a spirit of social justice and equality.

Once a party turns on a demographic - any demographic - and makes blanket policies against them, it proves itself willing to demonise innocent people for political gain. That means no one's safe. The Greens are doing as well as they are right now partly b/c they refuse to walk down that path.
