Poet’s Note:
[This poem] is an elegy and an homage. I have been greatly inspired as a writer by the work of Deborah Digges, who died by apparent suicide in 2009.

It is genuinely insane to see a judge describe Graham Linehan as a “generally credible witness” in a trial where he claimed Sophia Brooks has been engaged in “trans activism” since 2013 (when she would’ve been 6 years old), then, when challenged, claimed her drivers license lied about her age.

My parents had a Nichols and May LP when I was a child. This sketch was etched indelibly on my family's collective psyche. 'Information cannot argue with a closed mind.' 😂 Absolute peerless brilliance and comedy gold. So lovely to find it again. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfLa...

Hi. I’m David Southwell. I do Hookland. For me the industrial past holds more horror in its soot cicatrix because it’s not only root of the modern ecological terror we find ourselves living through, but as I working class writer I would still echoes as intergenerational trauma.

This is why people spent/saved more during Lockdown.

It wasn’t the stimulus checks, it was not being required to spend all that money just to survive.

If you don't follow Ada Palmer you might not know how fascinating, insightful and surprising her work is. Might want to do something about that! You'll be glad you did.

It's SO important to be petty about @zackpolanski.bsky.social while delivering a massively important budget presentation, isn't it, Rachel? The bond markets would be in turmoil if you didn't get a snide, childish jab in there. My only question is why you didn't think to leak it ahead of time?

My regular reminder that Wes Streeting is, in fact, a certifiable monster.

Not just American. In the UK the pain points may be slightly different, healthcare (currently) less prominent, but the basic premise remains the same. Breathtaking, and not in a good way. But it makes so much sense.

#Sheffield! Can you sign this petition? Help locals keep this stretch of green space open? Read the explanation on the page for why it's important – and picture it as a wild flower area, which is what they want to do. www.change.org/p/save-dobbi... @sheffgreenparty.bsky.social @helpsheffield.co.uk

Still obsessing about this interview (tbf there's a lot in it). On household vs national budgets, though, I'll say this. A Green budget would be actually more like a healthy household than RW economists would approve of, b/c it would support EVERYONE in the home. Even if they're sick or struggling.
Debate today with a Labour MP on the economy.

Also with a former advisor to George Osborne.

Very striking how much Labour & the Tories agree on our economic system.

Time for change. Let's make hope normal again. Enjoy! 🙌🏼👇🏼

Also, the UK plans to host US AI data centres which are water/energy guzzlers. Granted, one claims to use air-cooling, and one promises rainwater harvesting (not so useful in a drought). Demand will rise, supply will drop, bills will soar, shortages will be rampant. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Framing questions like ‘Did Austerity leave a legacy?’ as though Austerity finished years ago and the money has been flooding into public services since then also goes unquestioned. If Rupert thinks the markets run the country like a protection racket, he should say so and try & defend the idea.

I can't stop thinking about this interview. Rupert Harrison was so proud of introducing austerity, but didn't austerity break this country? Didn't it force feed the wealthy like foie gras geese and starve everyone else? How does he get to sit there looking smug and pretend he has any answers at all?

Today I saw a green-coloured leaflet from the Labour #Sheffield Central MP. It was full of constituents' talking points that happened to be...Green Party priorities. It looks/reads like a GPEW leaflet. Come over to the Greens, Abtisam! You truly can. 💚@greenparty.org.uk @sheffgreenparty.bsky.social
