The Hands Off protest in Salem, Massachusetts. The crowd doubled in size and eventually had to move a block down to the post office, a spot often used for demonstrations.

Hey friends, this is a gentle reminder that "if X is doing Y, you have no excuse" is usually an ableist formulation. You're simply not taking into account the diversity of meatsuit experiences.

e.g CCFA likes to create content of kids with NG tubes, reading "if they can do it, you have no excuse"

Please PLEASE go comment in favor of this rule. The subminimum wage for disabled folks is vile and evil and *must* be eliminated.

The poverty rate of disabled folks is astronomical compared to abled folks. There is no doubt this disgusting discriminatory policy is part of the reason why.

Accessibility matters! Disabled people are frequently left out of emergency plans.

Imagine leaving a deaf student on their own to figure out an active shooter situation?

Or wheelchair users who get abandoned in high rises during evacuations?

Every pre-chopped, pre-sliced, pre-peeled, pre-whatver food item that you think is gross or lazy or unnecessary is a disability tool. 🤗
Food writers love to write about how they think pre-minced garlic is disgusting and ignore the existence of disabled people who don't have the dexterity to chop garlic but can still cook thanks to what is essentially a disability tool. Like just STFU about it and don't use it if you don't like it.

If this is decline, it wasn't a natural one. Only one person made this. One person destroyed a community I rely on.
For a lot of us, losing Twitter isn’t really about losing ties to the company itself. It’s losing 10+ years of real, asynchronous communities, professional development, the ability to get gigs and clients, the ability to promo/share your art on an extremely broad scale. The loss of that has impact.
