under any other administration this alone would have been a massive news-cycle-swallowing scandal, now the AG is just like "yes, the president weaponized us, to distract from all the news implicating him with the pedophile rape gang he participated in with his best friend"

I was told tariffs did not raise consumer prices. Weird.

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Dems need to start talking more about how Trump’s dementia means that he can’t distinguish his fantasies from reality. He has completely lost touch with the real world and only knows what his sycophantic courtiers are telling him.
Trump: "If you look at affordability, which they campaigned on, they lied. Because they talked about 'Oh, prices are up' -- no, prices are down under the Trump administration and they're down substantially."

So maybe the second most powerful person in America should take action to not let that happen. Try that.
JD Vance: "The American people are unfortunately are about to start suffering some very real consequences because of the shutdown."

Important lesson

Post 2024 polls show Harris campaigning with Cheney decreased enthusiasm by 7%

Post 2025 polls show Mamdani running as unapologetic progressive earned him 9% of MAGA 2024 voters

Corporate Dems: You dont flip votes by compromising your values—but by unapologetically embracing them

This is nothing more than her being the opportunist she's always been. She sees the winds changing and the inevitable fall of MAGA and she's putting herself in a position to take advantage. I'd almost be impressed if she wasn't so detestable.
Greene: "I will praise Nancy Pelosi. She had an incredible career for her party. I served under her speakership in my first term in Congress and I'm very impressed at her ability to get things done. I wish we could get things done for our party like Nancy Pelosi was able to deliver for her party."

it doesn’t get any clearer that america’s betrothal to fossil fuels is about letting energy companies pick our pockets to prop up their obsolete industry
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

He's really saying "We know Democrats have more empathy than we do, so they will cave on this far before we will."
Republicans want to starve children to pressure Democrats into gutting healthcare.

How do we know?

Mike Johnson just admitted it.

"We will starve poor people to manipulate Democrats." Got it.
BASH: Even Hawley says you should move money around to feed people. Why not consider it?

JOHNSON: Because if you deviate from the goal of reopening the entire govt, Schumer & the radicals will continue to play games. If you do just part of this, it will reduce the pressure for them to do all of it

No. You can't go around the Constitution. That's the whole point of the Constitution.

It wasn't fake. It was edited. But Reagan really did spend a five-minute speech – an April 25, 1987, national radio address that the Reagan Library has published on YouTube – to rail against tariffs. It was a full-throated expression of support for free and fair trade.
