My mom was back home and doing ok with rehab after a fall this summer when she started sleeping a lot and talking to my dead cousin. A nurse came and said she suspected an infection. So we called an ambulance and sirened to the hospital. Alas, she had an infection, but also at least two strokes. 😭

I was doing a spelling test in (I think) 3rd grade and it was words with “-ack” sounds and there was 10 words and after I spelled them all correctly I wrote in “Shaq” as #11 and the teacher TOOK A POINT OFF.

I started Book 230 when I was in third grade. I have now finished it.
I will say no more. Ok lied, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT. WWWHHHHYYYY IS THIS A THING THEY INFLICT* ON UNKNOWING SCHOOLCHILDREN

*To be fair, I have never been required to read this, but it was al always on "for extra credit" lists.

This is quite a list of sad happenings, but you also get the sense that some of these (mostly) dudes went in exactly the way they would have wanted to: testing something everybody said wouldn’t work.

Her fiancé at the time, who “found” her, is the nephew of one of PA’s most powerful lawyers who is also a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of PA.

The uncle entered the apartment the day after her death & removed all the electronic devices (laptops, phones) belonging to them.

Heartbroken that, per his social media accounts, Drew Struzan has left us. His poster and album art was quite simply shorthand for imagination for countless young people.

E.T. Adventure poster, 1990. I still have one of these hanging in my childhood bedroom.

Star Wars Special edition triptych, 1997. I remember seeing all of these in the paper as each film was re-released and just felt a burst of energy those mornings.
