The framing of transgender existence as ideology is unscientific and bigoted.

Just because it is widely used by the GOP and broader political right does not mean media and pollsters need to use the bigoted framing to be neutral.

They shouldn’t. They should only ever note the scientific consensus.
Polling on trans issues is difficult to interpret. It becomes even more difficult when pollsters use politically charged terms like 'transgender ideology.'

Great new analysis by @billiejsweeney.bsky.social, only on Assigned Media.

Reed Smith of Calusa Oyster Company took us out on his skiff to show us his oyster farm, a series of mesh bags attached to floating buoys in the lower Tampa Bay.

In the not-so-far distance, you could see the Skyway - and the spot where a proposed cruise ship port could impact water quality.
We took a trip with oyster farmers to see how their business, and the water quality of the Tampa Bay, could be affected by a proposed port in Manatee County.

Happy Sunday to everyone except all the mediocre men who made hating things their entire personality lol.

People are allowed to like things you don’t. You don’t need to seek out the source of joy for some folks on social media and shit all over it because you think you’re smarter.

I've written several times about Tampa's death metal history, and now my @wusf.org colleague Sky has!

Check out his interview with two of the folks dedicated to documenting it since the beginning - and learn more about the pop-up exhibit tomorrow that showcases that history.

DHS Secretary says filming ICE is illegal and amounts to doxxing.

They’re absolutely wrong.

Recording law enforcement in public spaces is protected by the First Amendment — and courts have affirmed that right time and again.

BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.

I've been going to MOSI since the early 2000s. It was sad to see them struggling financially and closing exhibition spaces.

But the science museum's newest expansion (and name to go with it!) is pretty exciting.
