Why is this weird ass bowling anime my favorite anime of the year so far? I've been of the opinion that anime has been on a decline over the past few years. It feels like we get less good anime each year, and less truly unique anime each year.

I came into this expecting something unique. But uniqueness alone won't carry a show. What surprised me is how well the whole thing is executed, making it one of the best anime I can recommend from this year.

The show looks surprisingly decent for an original anime nobody watched or cared for. The character designs are distinct and the character animation is often silly and expressive. It won't blow you away, but it's still nice to see decent animation outside of the popular works.

The characters themselves all have flaws and insecurities that drives the drama and their motivations. They are forced to confront these problems in the midst of their absurd circumstances. The willingness to fully commit and take itself seriously is what allows the writing to be so strong.

I really think this show is best experienced if without spoilers. I will just say that it's concept is absurd, but takes itself very seriously. And because of that, it succeeds in being a fantastic character focused drama with a very focused plot that resolves perfectly.

That's why I'm so glad whenever unique stuff like this comes out. What could be so interesting about a bowling anime? That's probably a question everyone would normally ask. If you've looked up any promotional material after the anime aired, you'd know. But I'll refrain from speaking.

This is exactly what I refuse to pay anything above MSRP in this scalpers environment. Pull rates are already so bad. No point in paying double or triple to get 2 dollars worth of cards I could have bought as singles 90% of the time.

Skateboarding, not snowboarding. No snow or mountains in Florida unfortunately. I'm just super out of shape because I stopped exercising after high school, so even kicking off the skateboard is enough to cause muscle soreness.
