They definitely haven't. It's another "great idea" by people who have never worked in the industry

The same pub has a minimum staffing level of 2 people serving (manager and one floor staff) and 1 security guard. That's at least £30 per hour (prob more because security is outsourced), and then cost of electricity, etc. It's gonna be a no-go for most businesses most nights.

I had exactly the same question to be honest. Plus why do they think that getting people drunker is the answer? There's a pub near our office that has people arrive at 10am and not leave until the doors shut, they just sit in there and order maybe 2-3 drinks all day.

I hate how empty the chamber is when she speaks about this. It's such an important subject.

"Unpaid carers are predominantly women, which might go some way to explaining why their contributions are ignored." Catherine Connolly speaking out following yesterday's budget on the continuation of the means test for carers, and the unfulfilled promise of a cost of disability payment.

In this context the AI boosterism on PM yesterday was pretty gross. They only downside they highlighted was the energy cost - which, yes, is awful. But even if it ate a normal amount of power, the copyright infringement needs flagging. And the horrors (cf Zelda Williams' experience).

I agree with every word Zelda Williams says. And this at the end from OpenAI makes me want to go full Ned Ludd. Creators can’t have a blanket opt-out on copyright infringement of their work and have to fill out a form appealing to OpenAI’s mercy every time? Fuck off into the sun
OpenAI told the Guardian that content owners can flag copyright infringement using a “copyright disputes form” but that individual artists or studios cannot have a blanket opt-out. Varun Shetty, OpenAI’s head of media partnerships, said: “We’ll work with rights holders to block characters from Sora at their request and respond to takedown requests.”

That is genius! I am so stealing that! #MakeCriticalThinkingGreatAgain #TheresMoreThanAI

I don't feel well. It's nothing specific, but I'm tired and I'm not recovering energy how I usually do. Painkillers seem to make me feel worse somehow so I'm trying to stay away from them. I woke up with a feeling of intense pressure in my head this morning just before 6am. :(

So... send cutes?

In the last 6 hours, Trump has imposed:

- A 100% tariff on medicine unless its producer starts building a new U.S. factory in the next 5 days
- A 50% tariff on kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities
- A 30% tariff on upholstered furniture
- A 25% tariff on “Heavy (Big!) Trucks”

You are 100% right! In an arena where Americans already can’t afford the drugs they need, this is going to be a fatal move. It’s unconscionable!

Also, who has a fecking grandfather clock in their lab?

I decided to start watching the adaptation of The Black Dagger Brotherhood (J.R. Ward) and I'm having a lot of trouble getting past the main character's wig. It's horrendously fake and when paired with the sunglasses... he looks ridiculous. Some things are better in fiction.

I wrote about the Trump administration’s false claims about Tylenol, and the moral—not scientific—burdens they place on pregnant women’s bodies. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Pregnant women do not lack for judgmental, frightening and dubiously factual instructions about their health. Everywhere, they are told that they risk the health of their fetus by partaking in a series of banal everyday activities – be it jogging or having coffee or eating a certain cheese – that they are told will lead, by obscure mechanisms that are never quite explained, to impossible and devastating health outcomes for their children-to-be. The admonishments are multiple and often contradictory, but they all tend to agree on one thing: that it is always good for women to deprive themselves of joy and relief – and to suffer more – for the sake of their fetuses.

No choices! And now no fucking painkillers… The Right Wing anti-science idiots US should be ashamed of themselves!
clozilla.reprosky.xyz
“Why tylenol?” Because it’s the pain medication that pregnant people can take. That’s it. That’s why.

So to the doctors out there… Never fucking dismiss a woman’s concerns with a comment about her weight and say that if she loses weight everything will magically get better. It took a lot to get ourselves in the door because of people like you. And we can’t just lose weight! #chronicIllness #nhsFail

I got a hernia belt - OMG, i did not realise how weak my core is until I started wearing it. I swear, it's a big difference.

For the last... mumble weeks that's greater than 12... I have logged 6 days of work over 5 days. Every week seems to log in at an over/under of 48 hours.

I'm tired. Very tired.

It's not hard to figure out why UK and Aussie Politicians are decrying the recent violent act in the US. It's because he was a "friend" of the Cheeto in Chief! They're sh*t scared of him. I will admit that I was reminded of The Newsroom when I read BBC headlines that Mr Orange made the declaration.

I did a cardio workout this morning and it involved snapping my thumb... my thumb is now on fire and I can't use it. And it's my spacebar thumb. :(

This sucks. So on with the compression glove again and try to use my other thumb.

Have managed to replace a toilet seat and a 4 piece shower screen! Feeling damned proud now! Now… to rest!

And here’s the funny part. It started to resolve after I took off the second sports bra… 😂😂😂 so could have been fibro or nerve compression. The wonders of chronic conditions 😂😂😂 Still gonna self care today though.
