I'd always wondered about Scottish ethnicity on my Ancestry DNA test. Now it's gone & I have Northern Wales & North West England, which ties in my research (for this branch I've used DNA cousins for the first time). Denmark has largely gone. I would love more clarity on my NW Europe heritage.

We spent no more than a couple of hours there, having first visited Saltram, a bit further up the road. (Although a part of me really wanted to be poking around in Devonport, looking for ancestor hang-outs. 😁)

Somewhere I'd love to visit. I have discovered that one of my 3 x great grandfathers was from Northop and have been poring through parish registers and gazing at maps of the area - one of which I'd had absolutely no awareness, beforehand.

Day 3 of #31DaysOfGraves is 'tomb'.

I've chosen to share the wonderful tomb of Judge George Kempe (1606), his son John (1609) and daughter-in-law Elinore (1609).

All three lay side by side on top of the tomb and a side panel depicts John and Elinore's 14 children.

How's this for a collection of family stats? Decades of family members' heights pencilled on the wall of a dressing room in the house at Antony, Cornwall (National Trust). The volunteer kindly opened a special, narrow cupboard door in the painted panelling, to show this to me. What a treasure! 😊
