Still reading My Country, Autobiography of the Black Pasionaria. A couple of things: 1) Black liberation movements of the 50’s & 60’s were closely linked. They knew each other; 2) There’s no liberation without Black women, but more often than not, people want our labor without crediting us.

Feb. 1, 1960, 4 NC A&T students sat-in at the “whites only” counter at Woolworths in Greensboro. Their defiance ignited a movement led to the birth of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee.

Young people fuel movements. It is inspiring to see that today they still do.
