I'm from a roast bird and a ham family. Mom preferred a capon, Dad liked goose, but Mom let it be known that he had to deal with if he wanted one so badly, because she was NOT the one or the two.

it fascinates me how most everyone in the U.S. does turkey for Thanksgiving, but we are all over the map as to what we eat for Christmas (as is proper for a hugely diverse nation).

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.
The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.
