In Zaragoza, Spain, the sculpture La Mujer Que Nunca Hizo Nada (The Woman Who Never Did Anything) pays tribute to the often overlooked, unpaid work of women at home that keeps families & societies functioning. Xmas is one of their busiest times
#GoodMorning, everyone

The Yule cat, Jólakötturinn, is a huge, vicious cat from Icelandic folklore that is said to lurk in the snowy countryside during the festive season and eat people that do not receive new clothing to wear before Xmas Eve. (Or, more boringly, eat the food of people without new clothes.) Good morning!

Have seen a bracelet being pushed as the latest thing to have (and costing ££) and realised I have one almost identical that I was given over 30 years ago 😂

An excellent piece by Yasmin Khan in @theguardian.com – and I’m very relieved the preposterous case against her has been dropped. www.theguardian.com/food/comment...
I called my recipe book Sabzi – vegetables. But the name was trademarked. And my legal ordeal began
The granting of patents and trademarks to foods and words from the global south is part of a long colonial grab. It’s time to realise we share what we cook, and what we call it

Must be squeaky bum time for a number of UKIP/Brexit politicians, not to mention Farage having to go on the defensive as this becomes yet more evidence Brexit was promoted & supported by Putin to further disrupt the EU & western democracy.

This weekend has proven that if I lived on my own I would exist on cheese and crackers and crisps.

German friends:
A friend of mine lives in the US. Their 104 yr old mum is dying.
She fled the Nazis in WW2 and lived in the US every since.
In her final days/ weeks(?) there's need for gentle, soothing songs from her childhood, so from roughly 90-100 yrs ago.
Can you suggest any?
Thank you.

The BBC should just play Trump’s “Grab ‘em by the pussy” clip every hour, on the hour, on all channels, until he fucks off.

Over a montage of pictures of him with Epstein.

It's almost as if they have no idea about how schools are now. You can't compare with 10-15 years ago. The number of kids with SEN has increased hugely and don't get me started on the demands on school staff from parents.
The government believes schools can find savings through adjusting the make-up of leadership teams and deployment of support staff, as it prepares to leave them to foot the bill for future teacher pay rises

Really hate when a popular restaurant contacts you multiple times in the lead up to a booking asking you to reconfirm. You just know they want you to pull out to make space for some minor celeb.

I’m not surprised children get confused when teachers tell them off for running in the corridors because the word literally means a place to run.

Truth exists independently of belief or agreement. It doesn’t need likes, retweets, or applause.
Lies, propaganda, and bullshit do need people to keep repeating and defending them, otherwise they collapse.

Well that was a waste of an hour. After multiple glitches I got tickets in my cart. And then it just froze again as I was checking out. Probably won't beat seeing them in the rain in Galway in 1996 anyway #radiohead

Am very amused at all the drivers who think the signs about a road closure at the end of road could not possibly apply to them and then have to make a U-turn
