It actually started in the 1970s when conservative and libertarian think tanks came into being. After 10 years of drafting an agenda to do this, they put ole ronnie puppet in office to carry out their first Mandate for Leadership. And oh did he.
100%!!! The wealth & income disparity started with cutting higher education funding and trickle down propaganda in the '80s & expanded with tax cuts in '01, '03 & '17 & near elimination of estate/inheritance taxes in '11.

I think we learned from what happened with the encampments what Chapel Hill really stands for these days. Sad but true.
