The theme of Fallout New Vegas (clinging to a past that led to ruin) was so focused and palpable in every bit of the design. Not sure I'll be able to watch a mostly fun tv show whip through setpieces pulled from that melancholic setting

I have a lot planned for this New Year's Eve. Fall asleep reading a Discworld book at around 10. Be jostled awake by fireworks. Lay wide awake with my life's regrets until 3 AM. Wake up at 3:15 when neighbor lights a single firework every ten to thirty minutes, which he will do for the next week
