HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! 'dialoog met bezorgde burgers' HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Tjongejongejonge, ja in welke tijd leven we zeg?

Interesting study from Turon et al. showing for the first time the role of #microsymbionts in #sponge #reproduction! And the sponge ground species 'Geodia macandrewii' is included in the sampling 🙂
Do microbes contribute to #sponge sexual reproduction❤️ ? A team from SponBIODIV finds significant microbial composition changes in two species between reproductive and non-reproductive sponges! Spoiler: #Archaea are important!

The first batch of #sponge #genome notes are now out! 🥳 from the 'Wellcome Open Research' publishing platform: Aplysina aerophoba, Crambe crambe, Chondrosia reniformis, Aphrocallistes beatrix, Eunapius fragilis, Spongilla lacustris...
The genome of Aplysina aerophoba, the "golden sponge" is done. This sponge has a unique chemistry that makes it turn blue upon contact with air.

I told him: “just write the paper, get it out—the next one will be better, and the next even better.”
