The craziest thing is that the US is doing this with absolutely no understanding of the optics of the world gathering in Italy in a few weeks. This will absolutely be one of the big stories.
If you're living somewhere outside the USA, one thing you can do is pressure your leaders to boycott World Cup and Olympic events here.

It's astonishing, but this is sanctionable misconduct in that case, and also criminally referable. A party to a case is literally threatening the other, with violence and retaliation, outside of the court. This is no different from walking up to them on the courthouse steps and threatening a party.
