Hello! Time I did a reintroduction for the peeps coming over from the bird app.

I'm Shiraz, an artist and game designer from India. You can usually find me yapping a combination of the following:

had a long heart-to-heart with my wife (who's wonderfully supportive). I need to generate that equal share income soon, or find a new line of work.

I'm going to finish Fallen 2e by end of Feb. That's 3.5 weeks. Then spend a month testing. Crowdfund sometime in April/May.

That's it - I've said it.

I think I've stumbled onto something about #TTRPGs that I've been vaguely aware of, but it's never come into focus: the idea of the PC as having illusory independent agency from the player. It's actually how I think about and play my characters. I don't feel or think what they do; they tell me.

1. More beers are needed.

2. Metacurrency is how you structure frameworks for play. Coin, hp, luck, action economy, are all ways to do x thing for y outcome.

3. Immersion is subjective, and the worst thing you can do is play with people who don't subscribe to your ballpark version of it.

Ok, #ttrpg hot take time. I've had a couple of beers, may regret this later.

If metacurrency ruins your immersion, then unless you've been doing some FKR bullshit, then every other RPG you've ever played has also done that. All of them require doing things that are "meta".
