Standing up to the far right is good, actually
🚨 WATCH: Jewish activists heckle Nigel Farage during the launch of Reform UK's Jewish alliance

"My grandmother fled Germany, you would deport her!"

Absolutely bonkers "allies of Starmer" are pushing this line, feeding attack lines to Reform and forfeiting their party's mandate (after already squandering it.) And yes, it's the party's mandate - not Starmer's! Really feels like some in Labour keen to see Farage as PM just for "told you so" value.

Hate-filled fake videos about London are everywhere. We've obtained a recording of a TikToker confessing to secretly filming Londoners in their homes for clicks.

He says it's not political. He just wants to make money from far-right anger.

Right that the prime minister has resigned. His successor, Keir Starmer, has a very difficult inheritance.

Best, unlikely scenario: Rayner gets in, builds a strong leftish cabinet, averts May disaster, comes in strong to '29.
Likely scenario: Rayner gets in, attempts conciliating Labour Right, doesn't pivot enough to survive May, is knifed in the back and replaced by Wes / Shabana.

Today my students learned about asylum & the principle of non refoulement, read the 1951 refugee convention, and saw videos of the camps created by countries in violation of their obligations under international law. You know, apropos of nothing

IDK who needs to hear this, but Polanski's position is obviously "replace NATO" rather than "abolish NATO" or "leave NATO". Very different positions, and his doesn't lend itself to lazy caricatures.
When we said NATO wasn't working we were derided.

When we said a nuclear weapons system relying on the US is dangerous we were called stupid.

The truth is the establishment are more interested in kissing US feet than keeping the UK safe.

It's time for a rethink.

This is the correct read. Most European leaders have a 'white knuckle it until Governor Fungible (D-Nonsuch) gets 270 electoral votes in 2029' approach. Not a good idea IMV.
"Vassal" talk is a bit much, but those Starmer (and other EU leaders tbf) statements read like all these people still believe, if we can just hold our breath for three more years, this nightmare will be over and we'll be back to singing Atlantic Kumbaya

Wait, all the people who said it was outrageous that a British riot-supporter was jailed for a tweet are now saying it's outrageous that a British person was released from an Egyptian prison, given his tweets?

This reminds me! Five years ago I had a chat with the local council official who created “Winterval” in 1998. A real canary in the coal mine of future British culture wars. TBH the real story is that councils used to have money to spend on cultural events. www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

FWIW: You can't argue both "Bondi wasn't to do with Palestine or Globalize the Intifada" AND ALSO "should we really be surprised that after two years of genocide... etc".
It's either/or.
(The former, obviously, is correct: As far as is known rn, Bondi wasn't about Gaza.)
