all these years, i thought the chicago driver habit of honking while passing/leaving alleys, or approaching intersections, was a kind of sweet “watch out folks, i’m in motion!” warning. come to find out it mostly means “get tf outta my way because i won’t be using my brakes!” 😬—especially in snow.

if you find me in a crowd of people confronting terror i’ll be paying more attention to the well-being of the most vulnerable people & other beings in that crowd than i am to the agents of state terror. it’s what i can do. i’m not saying it’s better—i’m saying it’s what *i* can do.

if you don’t habitually have your “following” feed as your default, you may find yourself having to scroll back & “catch up” with my & others’ posts. if that doesn’t suit you & you don’t want to miss a post of mine (etc.), you can set your notifs to alert you when i/they do certain kinds of posts.

been working on three promo graphics for the upcoming “official” release of ON BEING HALF-IMAGINARY on the 15th. two are silly, one is…i dunno, cinematic? & all are eye-catchingly rinky dink.

i do rinky dink better than most folks, if i do say so myself.

remember, you can extend the compassion arising toward others back around toward yourself. you may empathize so much with others impacted by violence & crisis that you feel shame for any little pleasures or boons you experience.

you need not punish yourself (or anyone) for feelings or experiences.

ok, get this: if i want to send a small piece of mail art to a friend in germany, with no particular monetary value, as a gift, i have to pay 50 bucks—& he has to pay 10 euros to pick it up! i also have to certify that there is no “propaganda” in the piece.
