one of the local tamale vendors was taken from her usual spot in front of the corner laundromat this morning. aid orgs are asking for any info—we didn’t see it, & probably nobody who follows me saw anything or knows her, but on the off-chance…🙁

survivors of traumas including child abuse, incarceration & state violence may be having an especially difficult time with the words, actions & demeanor of those in power at this moment. i know i am, though i do not say much about it (for a great many reasons).

there are so very many of us. ✊

i use social media differently from most other people & i am careful of what i bring here. the bottom line is that i bring myself to engagement here with the same awareness as i would or do in face to face life. if you know me in both settings you can decide for yourself how effectively i do this!

that’s why i don’t distinguish between online & offline life experiences—it’s all my life, it’s all processed in my body & the actions & relations emerging from soc med all involve my body.

that said, social media is also an easily-weaponized tool that can destroy & end lives.

i’m not gonna quote-post with a specific social-media-good-thing because honestly so many of my books, gigs, deeply rewarding relations, care networks, mutual aid access & vital life changes have been directly empowered by the socials. it’s also a very intentional field for my dharma practice. 🆗
