Decades of Mailing It In
Friday - Sunday October 10-12, 2025

Squirrel Haus, 3450 Snelling, Mpls. www.squirrelhausarts.com

Musicmaster (aka Thomas M. Cassidy) is putting together a madness-infused exhibition of 1000+ pieces of Mail-Art called
Decades of Mailing It In, Fri.-Sun. October 10-12, at Squirrel Haus, 3450 Snelling, Mpls. This trail mix of letters, cards, hi-jinx, zines, collaborations, and para-punk debris is from 40,000+ pieces of mail-art yakked up by his mailbox since 1972. It's also a "retrospective" gone correctly awry because 99% of the works aren't by Musicmaster, but are instead pieces sent to him.

There will also be a display of mail-art sent just for this event, mail-zines, artistamps, projects guests can add to, freebies, Fluxus fallout, local mail-artists in person (not just in envelopes anymore), and audio/video enhancements from beyond.

The opening reception starts on Friday at 3:00 p.m. with a short overview and mini Q&A interventions between viewers and artworks. Local spoken word all-stars and troubadours will be featured in the performance space in shows both Friday and Saturday starting at 7 p.m. Gallery opens 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

Starting 1:00 p.m. Sunday there will performances, readings, collaborations and more (I'm not kidding) by Greet-O-Matic, Adam Roussopoulos, Hamil Griffin-Cassidy, Doug Green, Ted King, Wayne Nelsen, special guests John M. and C. Mehrl Bennett of Luna Bisonte Prods, Columbus, OH.
Stay tuned! This will be an active swirling celebration of Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Press, Freedom of Belief System, Freedom of Art, Freedom of Comedy, Freedom of the Absurd, Freedom of Movement, Freedom to Assemble, Freedom to Connect and Freedom to Stay Tuned for Spoken Word All Star Line-Ups!
