This was incredible. We fed 40 families today. Thank you to @jchavezmpls.bsky.social for helping fundraise, @elitalksmpls.bsky.social for organizing with me, and the dozen people who helped us pack and shop. And thank you to everyone who donated. I have no words.

I stood with friends in the same spot towards the start of the march for almost TWO HOURS (waiting for other friends farther back) and had to leave before they got to us. It was still going strong.
March was so long that when we finished, after an hour of marching, there were still people waiting to start matching. We made a protest ouroboros.
Yeah, I'm thinking we're going to win.

The Finns, particularly in northern Minnesota, were/are a major source of radicalism. During the Red Scare their use of Finnish confounded authorities trying to censor communist publications.
The strong labor roots of the Finnish are WHY there's so much anti-finnish sentiment in the state--stirred up by powerful corporate media.

I love that everyone is discovering the rich and long history of radicalism in Minnesota. From early farmer coops and labor activism to the long fight against nuclear weapons and IBM Minnesotans have been standing up against the powerful. The DFL needs to revive thier progressive tradition.
I do love our tradition of parade/protest/battle puppets

Boosting in case anybody in MSP has advice.
I need advice - there's an unhoused guy in our neighborhood (Jordan) who we've been helping out by giving him odd jobs here as we can afford. He came to us today asking for help getting some form of ID again because he does not have one anymore. Who can I connect him to, other suggestions? Thanks 💛

Moon Palace is distributing whistles and zines about how to watch ICE and alert your neighbors (in English, Spanish and Somali).
AND WE'RE RUNNING LOW ON WHISTLES.
I didn't think it was possible after folks in Chicago sent us a couple thousand... but, well, the fascism just keeps on fascism-ing.
We've got whistles for you and all your friends! We've got bathrooms if you're out observing and need a public restroom! We've got some really dirty bumper stickers for free if you want to make sure your minivan doesn't get confused with ICE! And we're open until 6:30 today!

I can't believe local government is cowering while local normies are trying to protect their community. Just letting guys with guns threaten people like this
Minneapolis - Border Patrol stops a protester following them, and tells the car it’s their “first and final warning” to quit.

Facing eviction in these circumstances is completely unacceptable. I urge everyone to sign this petition for no evictions under occupation: bit.ly/stopevictionsmn and call on elected leaders at all levels to take action to pass an immediate moratorium on evictions.
Take action - demand Gov. Tim Walz stop evictions during the federal occupation of Minnesota!
Demand elected leaders enact an eviction moratorium throughout this occupation of MN by federal agencies! Without eviction protections, immigrant families under the direct & growing threat of abductio...

again: not an atrocity list. please God may you not witness atrocities. those are easy to feel you should write down. but the everyday--level where the grain of supremacy lies--is harder to remember to do invent. document it. plainly, clearly, repeatedly

[+++] in a time when the adrenaline has slowed. it will call back all the details. and it will assure you, when you maybe are told by people outside of your experience that what you saw was not what you saw, or what you felt not necessary to feel, that it was real and appropriate.

i did this for the first six or so months of the pandemic, all through the uprising. it was a really powerful experience
hey people of MN right now. might not feel easy or normal. but once a day take a minute to write down five plainly stated sentences about what you observed that day. doesn't have to be anything spectacular. snow blowing sideways. birdsong. neighbors walking. but do it. it'll help you remember [+++]

I did this for one hundred days starting March 15, 2020. It felt like nothing. Now when I look back I can remember so much—so many tiny things that felt like "just the way things are". The basis for understanding my own life, politics, etc

Renee Good committed gender insubordination: she didn't cower & grovel to male authority. Many women are killed for the very same reason all over the world. We just call it by the euphemism "domestic violence" instead of what it is: a campaign of political terrorism in which any man can participate.
When Renee Good said "I'm not mad at you" what the ICE goon heard was "I'm not scared of you."

That's what enraged him. The populace wasn't fully terrorized and cowed into submission yet, so he acted to make that happen.

i texted a family member who lives in another state an unsolicited rant about this yesterday, telling them “this is what i really want people to understand about frey”
our city councilors are out putting their bodies on the line and actively preventing abductions and our mayor is getting his hair done for cnn interviews and saying “gee willikers everyone let’s try not to make these guys mad”
