This policy comes straight from the top: agents are told they have the authority to forcibly detain anyone whom they reasonably suspect of being here illegally, but they do NOT have the authority to determine if they are citizens or not. That must be left to higher officials, often days/weeks later.

Yesterday I argued in the Supreme Court to defend a 50 year old law that prevent corruption in our campaign finance system. Meanwhile, Republicans are attacking the 60 year old Voting Rights Act in SCOTUS as well. We won't let them gut democracy without a fight.
