Good morning! I'm going to go a bit out on a limb today and argue that Donald J. Trump is not the CAUSE of most of our current political problems, but is instead, the RESULT of the abdication of powers granted by our Constitution to both the Congress and the Supreme Court of the United States. 🧵

In Portland, an ambulance was summoned to the ICE office to treat an injured protester (not clear how he was injured). But when the patient was loaded inside, ICE officers refused to let the ambulance leave and threatened to shoot the ambulance driver: www.wweek.com/news/2025/10...

Do you deny that Fox News, OAN, Newsmax, Breitbart, and others have a right-wing slant? And no one follows the broadcast networks anymore, if that's your argument.

I think the question now is whether Trump is still willing to put pressure on Putin to come to the negotiating table. Clearly, he does not intend to give tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, but only wants to use them to bluff Putin into negotiations. But Putin has long figured out that strategy.

Yes, Democrats need to improve their messaging, but you also have to take into account that the media is stacked against them. From AM talk radio, to Fox News, OAN, Newsmax, The Daily Caller, etc. Republicans have many media orgs that always toe the company line. Who do the Democrats have? MSNBC?

CBS News would never put a thinly sourced 'story' by a rookie blogger like this on it's air. Until now. The Free Press isn't a journalism outlet, it's bloggers aren't reporters. This piece is more NYPost than Tiffany Network but I guess that's the goal.

What Besset/MAGA don't understand, is that unlike the Tea Party movement, this is a truly grassroots movement against authoritarianism. There is no secret cabal of wealthy elites, such as the Koch brothers, who are largely bankrolling the effort. But, they will try and convince the public otherwise.

Home of the Brave launched a $1 million national ad campaign in support of the peaceful No Kings rallies on Oct. 18th.

The ads will run in over 185 local papers and The New York Times, USA Today and The Washington Post calling on Americans to “peacefully protest our false king."

I try not to pay too much attention to RFK, Jr., because he is a kook, but this is basically what he is after. It's a weird mixture of Ayn Rand, elitism, conspiracy theories, and healthy living nuttery.

Exactly. Trump's base naively believes that more freedom for plutocrats means more freedom for them, too, when in fact, it is usually the opposite.
