I will admit that I avoid small parks that are full of tents. Any improvement to parks must come with a massive improvement in shelter, housing, and resources. Looking forward to a mayor who believes the same.

Y'all, we're about to have a mayor who rents (like me and 55% of all Seattleites), who does not own a car (like me), and who isn't a millionaire (like me)! This might be a first for me!
After much deliberation and a grueling interview process, I’m pleased to announce that I’ve accepted a new job and will not need any financial support from my parents to cover the high costs of childcare going forward. #AmericanDream #ThisIsYourCity

I'm someone who takes 10+ trips on scooters per month. Are there bad riders? Yes. But if we won't collectively punish drivers, then we shouldn't collectively punish scooter riders. More lanes, more corrals, and possibly geofencing parking locations (to corners, etc) could help the issues.

I never paid attention to this until the first year I had a car in Mpls. It was towed promptly on street sweeping day.
After 9 years in Seattle, I'm still shocked Seattle doesn't sweep streets! In Minneapolis, they sweep streets from curb to curb twice a year (once in fall, once in spring). Not only does this help with flooding, it keeps our rivers and streams clean.

King County’s new “Stop Hate Hotline” is now live — a non-police option for reporting hate crimes and bias incidents, available 24/7 in 200 languages.

Officials say the resource aims to support communities that haven’t always felt safe reporting to law enforcement.

Transit and bike/scoot infrastructure can and should work together!
This is such an exciting project. It’s the most complete and well-executed example of quality bike and bus infrastructure in the city and it shows what PBOT is capable of when given relative design freedom and ample funding.

I'm not sure we're all aware of what a huge change doubling headways will be. So excited!
I-90 light rail update: before the end of the month, 2 Line testing will start extending up to Lynnwood, with out-of-service trains running in between normal trains. Riders won't be able to board, but this will be a preview of what 4 minute headways north of downtown look like.
