The US government releasing the murderer’s video, including the part where he said “Fucking bitch” to a visibly queer woman he just murdered in front of her wife, is an intentional death threat to all queer people in America.

There needs to be a term for the mistake of thinking that understanding a threat is adequate for overcoming it. if you show someone with a gambling problem all of the ways that the game is stacked against them, they will gamble even more bc they now think they can beat the odds

It’s really funny how a generation will roll its eyes at parents who watch Fox News but doesn’t see why being immersed in Twitter is having the same effect. Lots of serious people show up on Fox News too but that shouldn’t be your primary source on the news.

There needs to be a term for the mistake of thinking that understanding a threat is adequate for overcoming it. if you show someone with a gambling problem all of the ways that the game is stacked against them, they will gamble even more bc they now think they can beat the odds

My family in St Paul says it feels like Trump is trying to destroy Minneapolis, like they’re literally being invaded by a hostile force
if you want to know what it is like in minneapolis, I don’t even have to scroll on facebook to find a horror story. it’s basically my whole feed.
everyone i know in minneapolis is seeing ICE take people—at gas stations, taquerias, bus stops, schools. just snatching random people.

It’s hard to know if people outside MN understand how much of life is grinding to a halt here because of Trump’s occupation. Schools have shut down, businesses are scaling back hours or closing because their employees aren’t safe. The whole city is weighted down.

Not an exaggeration at all to say that the feeling in Minneapolis is that the entire metro area is being treated as occupied territory by federal agents. Impossible to overstate how overwhelmingly people here do not like it. This does not feel sustainable.

So many places are closing, kids are having to stay home, folks are having to stay home from work, so many people were afraid to leave their homes even before someone got murdered, we've got to be a quarter of the way to a general strike already, easy.

This morning in Minneapolis, an ICE vehicle got stuck on an icy hill in a residential neighborhood. Agents had to push the vehicles out, some almost slipping in the ice themselves.
