It's been three years since I uploaded my first design so I thought it might be time to go back and revisit that model and see if I have learnt anything in those years. Even if it is just how to paint blue.

Your painting certainly helps make that guy look great...but I also agree that some of the old Fantasy Regiments figures hold up well. I'm particularly fond of the Orcs and Dwarfs...finished this unit up for last Orctober...

A fun fact about these guys- the bare heads had ears that tessellated with other versions of itself so you could make a really mean looking two headed skaven.

He seems to be Space Ork 4403 17, there is a painted picture of him in 106, but my pdf isn't really going to help you as the quality is too low. It's the same picture you can see here (it's on page 29)

Calling him done, except for the base (and still no chapter insignia 😒).

My skills are limited but I found a decent pic of Captain Crabb as a reference which helped!

Some rough bits on the scratch-built hand flamer, e.g. the canister axis isn't parallel to the nozzle. But good enough for now.
