So it’s 1:50 am , Kyiv, I’m in my bed , watching and texting , and then light goes off and it’s super dark and I’m like scared at first and then i go: wasn’t it already a blackout ? And then remember it is - it’s just my flashlight that went out . Phew

It’s 1:51 pm in Kyiv and power is down because of Russian attacks. Generator purrs loudly outside like a giant cat - a nearby cafe . In apartment buildings we can’t use generators - and I’m in one - but thank gd for gas stove and old school kettle. Fixed myself a simple lunch

If you’re wondering if it gets cold in our homes when power is down - it depends , but usually yes. Now power is going to be down for almost 6 hours . And it’s gonna get uncomfortably chill in about an hour . Add to that it’ll be dark in couple of hours - which just makes it a bit depressing
