I just learned the Bugs Bunny No meme doesn't even come from him saying no. It's a frame rotated 90 degrees from him taking a drink from a bottle. I needed to share this.

Once again, I am asking you to check out who is cited as a source in this NPR piece. I was wondering why NPR was randomly talking about unmarried mothers - two of the sources for this piece are the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025.

Forty percent of babies in the U.S. are born to unmarried mothers. Increasingly, those moms are over 30, at a time when teen pregnancy has fallen off a cliff and births are declining for younger women.
How women over 30 are rewriting the single mom narrative in America

This is what the internet is for
Home Alone makes changes to the Die Hard formula that render it hard for me to enjoy. The McClain character should feel overawed. And in theory having Kevin be a child versus adults achieves that. But the thing is: Kevin is a god. It's not just Tom & Jerry. This is some random punks versus Anansi.

Mad Sisters of Esi was one of the best books I read this year! (And I've read over 300 books this year, so I really mean it when I say this was one of my favorites.) Gorgeous writing that takes you on a magical, surreal journey through time, space, and sisterly relationships.
MAD SISTERS OF ESI is one of The Washington Post’s 10 best SFF novels of 2025. In the sheer amount of what gets published each year and what gets lost, this feels like a small, precious miracle ❤️

Well deserved, this was my favourite read of the year!

Once again reiterating to westerners that not every reader in the world has access to libraries. Which is not to defend piracy or imply everyone pirating lacks access. I'm a writer, & do lose sales to piracy, but care more about structural efforts to devalue our labour than individuals pirating.
I'm pretty much just blocking anyone I see do the ol' "people who pirate books/movies can't afford to buy them" tango, but for the love of all that is good, I must reiterate that that situation is what THE LIBRARY is for!

Very important thread! 👇🏾
There is a whole underworld of exploited workers who make up the foundation of digital tech. We talk about content moderators, but content farms are also very exploitative industries where moderately educated people with reasonable English skills in the global majority are used to push content.
It may be hard to believe, but Twitter was once a useful public space instead of a weird monetization scheme for racist ragebait chatbots.

Look at the world everybody with experience and credentials created for them. 🙃
Something about the younger generations -across industries, topics, genres - is the willingness and eagerness to dismiss the value of earned experience and credentials.

It’s wild to see but it’s consistent.
