John doesn't use social media, but he's been made aware of this discussion, and has asked us to post the below on his behalf: "In a recently published interview, I said "nobody who's interested in historical wargaming is a woman". This was intended as a sarcastic response to a question I perceived as lazy, about whether there had been a huge influx recently of female customers to Warlord Games - something we know is not the case. While my comment was published out of context, I recognise that it was the wrong thing to say, as it gives the impression that I think women are either not present, or even unwelcome in historical wargaming. I would like to reassure everyone that I absolutely do not hold these views! Anyone who has been to one of our open days or on one of our tours will have seen that we welcome everyone into Warlord Games - whoever they are. I'm very proud to run an extremely diverse organisation, and to have a similarly diverse community. Warlord Games, and wargaming, is for everyone who wants to have fun with model soldiers."

User @thenordic.bsky.social (a random asshole) replied 'was it too hard for you to to [sic] add a link?' along with a link to an AP piece. Venezuelans may even thank Trump. But that does not make these actions legal or wise. Normalising this behaviour endangers all countries - democracies and dictatorships alike.
