Expected but not a truthful statement.
Your post prompts an interesting parlor game. Other than the most anodyne of issues, name one thing Collins pontificated on that came to pass. I can’t think of any insight she foretold or informed.
Body that is. Soul passed decades ago.
Maybe obvious, yet sage advice. But/and I do think context & motivation define what is adult versus toddler level responses. Swift’s satirical responses and even the Simpson’s you quote could be considered juvenile or trollish, yet in many ways the are the most effective responses. Mock the devil.

Brett Kavanaugh's behavior during today's second oral arguments has been incredibly obnoxious and rude. He is so eager to kill a service member's lawsuit against a negligent government contractor that he keeps interrupting other justices, raising his voice, and getting emotional. Weird and erratic.
Thanks. I look forward to reading it.
Current SCOTUS has made “the law” a subjective thing. So much for your belief in a universal starting point.
Is anyone identifying and documenting the guests/collaborators for when the wheel turns? The wheel always turns.
Do you pin and display them?
How soon we forget. That was a bleach cocktail followed by a lightbulb enema chaser.
AI was invented to aggressively regress to the mean. It is a metaphorical lawnmower of thought.
True. Ever true. I’ve witnessed 60s kvetching about long hairs, 70s bitching about gas and Carter, 80s anger over rapacious finance bros and S&L debacles, 90s spewing vitriol at Clinton & Co, 00s flaming Bush neocon war mongering, Obama derangement syndrome. Bitching & moaning is our steady state.
#ETTD is a fundamental law of nature.
Republicans have always been anti-Semitic. They’re hateful souls. They just no longer feel the need to hide it.

Kevin Roberts' defense of Nick Fuentes is a watershed moment: the right has officially declared open, unabashed Hitlerism to be an acceptable position in their coalition

The GOP’s top think tank just defended an open Nazi

This is wishcasting by Republicans. The R caucus is underwater and damaged by their refusal to negotiate or even be present. Independents are finding the stance repugnant.

New York Times editorial board has compiled "a list of 12 markers of democratic erosion." www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

This is what "not the odds, but the stakes" was all about.

During the 2024 campaign, those 12 markers could have been in place and operating to guide news coverage everywhere.

Sunbelt is over represented in the loss column.
I’m beginning to think primates are not very good at foresight.

Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.
It’s in my queue. I’m waiting to watch it with Godot.

Today in @thenation.com, the one and only @therafischwartz.bsky.social asks a pertinent question: isn't it time we started paying more attention to the fact that Trump's brain appears to constantly be oozing out of his ears into a puddle on the floor?

We Have to Talk About Donald Trump’s Brain
Are we just going to sit around and pretend that the president isn’t having a lot of… questionable moments these days?
