Something that hasn't been made clear: Firefox will have an option to completely disable all AI features.

I choose to believe that the highest tier trainers all kind of get this subject inherently. Even if they don't experience it themselves, they value their pokemon as partners enough that it makes complete sense. They talk about it together casually.
