“Will you quit walking away from me?”

How many times would he have to shoo him away; teeth grinding against each other and tail flicking as Jacob walked, his son persistently trailing after him. Water from the day’s previous rain wet against his paws, splashing above the sole of his shoes and onto his open toes. As if the stress of the day hadn’t already been enough, what was essentially a fly buzzing in his ear kept tracking him down to yell incomprehensible nonsense.

“I know you can hear me! I know you’re not deaf.”

Attempting to pay the fly no mind, Jacob sighed as he reached his bus stop. Standing rigidly and unfaltering by the dimly blinking sign, eyes glazed over as he stared onto the open road. Pale gold and silver reflected back at him, turning the black pavement into a mirror of colors. A frustrated expression on the fly as it stomped into his view, something he attempted to ignore as he simply looked the other way, thumbing at the hem of his sleeves.

“What are you mute too?”

Ah. Perhaps the fly was more like a bee, stinging words seeming to be its strong suit. He glanced back, gazing the fly in the eyes for the first time that night. A mini version of him glaring at him, albeit taller, wearing bangs over the right side of its face. Somehow he had hoped, if there was ever a chance, Casey would look nothing like him. Would make it easier on both of them, alas, fate was ever so sadistic in her dominance and seemed to have other plans. Jacob raised one hand to his face, pressing a thumb to his forehead.

“You’re stubborn.” he signed.

Casey’s face darkened as he looked at the ground, pondering to himself. He seemed unsure of his answer, if he were to answer at all. If he chose not to, Jacob wouldn’t have blamed him, but the idea of his wife-...ex wife speaking ill of him surprised him enough to question his son further. Whether this was just a sentence to grab his attention he was unsure of.

“A lot…” Casey muttered. “That you’re not worth talking to, because you didn’t care.” He kicked the ground and shoved his hands in his pockets. “I didn’t want to listen to her.”

The deep pressure in Jacob’s chest threatened to overwhelm him, pressing down on his back like a sudden heavy weight. Casey looked back, a quiet, high pitched whine in the background notifying him of the bus’s imminent arrival as it slowly drove down the road. His eyes fixed on the ground before looking at his father again.

“You don’t look like you care, though. So I probably should have listened. ” he muttered, heading back down the sidewalk. “Have a good rest of your day I guess.”

A lack of care? Jacob thought that perhaps he’d rather do anything but care, though he’d begged for a chance like this for years, anything to fix what he’d done. What was he doing? Throwing that away in favor of the sickly pit in his stomach that kept him from functioning. Jacob thought that for the majority of his life he’d cared too much, but as the bus slowly rolled to a stop, he’d realized he’d been left with a choice. To ignore the cold aching that bit at his fingers and ears in favor of a numb warmth inside the bus or to brace himself.

I've been coming to terms with having very short patchy hair for the most part but I really really really don't want it to affect my facial hair because having facial hair makes me feel so good about myself. I wish I could see other trans people talk about it more so I felt less alone about it.

I don't see anyone else talk about having trich much if at all, when I do see it it's mostly just cis women who have some thin patches.

It's extremely dysphoria inducing for me to not be able to keep up with hair growth. I've had it for 8 years now, nothing has helped.

My facial hair has started to bother me and break out my skin and one of my big fears is that having trich is going to make it hard or damn near impossible to keep my facial hair :(

I really would like to get past the patchy phase, I should wash my face more. It's hard to keep up with though
