I have some thoughts about women - of all ages - leaving evangelicalism. 🧵

First of all, of course they are! I wrote about how women have spent the last two decades (and really longer) calling out alienating, unbiblical evangelical rhetoric and politics. 1/x www.baylorpress.com/978148131893...

The sudden swerve from the pursuit of undocumented immigrants to demanding the voter rolls has a whiff of panic. You can smell the burning rubber.

There's always a gender element
I think there's a gender element in this murder, too. In new vid, we see victim try to shield a much smaller woman a male ICE goon has violently knocked down. Goon enraged, focuses his attack on man shielding woman. As if enraged for showing up his masculinity, for revealing his hysteria.

@fritschner.bsky.social @kenmartin.bsky.social I am *begging* you guys to realize how many of our problems are downstream of the mainstream media hating your guts and how many problems you've caused for yourself by refusing to act like it
Sean do you understand that by using Naughty Language, Jake Tapper will now say it was your fault? Or have you guys not figured out yet that the press hates your guts

I donate to this organization a couple times a year and I think they do great work getting cars to the working class in Asheville. If you have a little bit to give, please consider them.

I wonder how soon we'll have to remove units/readings on slavery from our syllabi
President Donald Trump and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum ordered content at national parks that “inappropriately disparage” the U.S. to be reviewed and potentially removed.
The slavery exhibits at the President’s House have been removed following Trump administration push

I don't know what annoys me more: amazing papers that get lost because they have boring and easy to gloss over titles the leaves out the important part, or papers with amazing titles that absolutely can't deliver what they promise... sure, it's the latter, but still...

I really do think there's a lane for a Democratic presidential candidate who says we're really going to focus the intel and law enforcement power of the US government against this problem.
It's unbelievable to me that we KNOW enough about human trafficking to know when the two biggest events are every year, and yet we haven't mobilized national law enforcement to prevent it in any serious way

In a negative way if you're old, rich, and boring, maybe
Trump: "Certain places in Europe are not even recognizable, frankly, anymore. We can argue about it but there's no argument. Friends come back from different places and say, 'I don't recognize it.' And that's not in a positive way. That's in a very negative way."
