Husband, father of 3, UU minister, hospital chaplain, dedicated amateur film photographer (unless otherwise noted, photos taken with my Google Pixel 7 Pro), opinions my own.

"I am at home with the me. I am rooted in the me who is on this adventure."

Well, here we all are. I'm a dad of three, a hospital chaplain semi-reluctantly ascended to management, a film photographer, a board game fan, a reader, and a pizza topping maximalist.

My interests tend to run broad, and in this next political epoch I'm trying to keep my focus local and joyful.

The worst fucking people in the fucking world, holy shit.
Reporting from Boston papers makes it seem very plausible that Trump's Press Secretary had his paramilitary detain the mother of her nephew, because she was no longer romantically involved with her brother and he wanted her out of the picture.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...

You can get tens of thousands of likes and reskeets for posting a photo of any random smiling woman and captioning it “when your girlboss is about to ruin your life just to be a bitch.”

Anyway it’s a total mystery why America keeps rejecting qualified women for the presidency.
How did a bunch of men all convince themselves that Tariff Otaku would actually be better for the economy and give them all free stimulus checks unlike that shrill nagging bitch Kamala Harris it is a mystery

Another Madison landmark, Lombardino's Family Restaurant. Delicious food in an atmosphere frozen in amber in 1955. Interestingly, the family that owned and ran Lombardino's between ~1965-95 lived in our house!

Oh indeed!
To shoot macro with a Kodak Charmera, stick one of those iPhone lenses on it.

The Charmera was too thick to hold my iPhone lens clip, so I painter-taped it on.

I used to literally livetweet Apple announcements. At this point, there’s nothing that makes me say “oooh” anymore and I love gadgets. I absolutely love them.

The main thing I want is a gadget that does what I want it to do for 15 years.

No bailouts. The US should extort these companies when the crash happens so they get minimal compensation in return for nationalizing the entire panopticon industry and then destroying it once harvested for socially useful parts. It won’t happen but it should
when its definitely not a hostage situation

I have said before and will say again that it is such a loss that we no longer get covers of this caliber for fantasy books.

This art is by Jean-Léon Huens. These covers are for the Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. They lit my imagination on fire as a kid.

They also initially found common cause with right-wing evangelicals, despite their "support for Israel" being based on the expectation that the Jewish diaspora regathering in Jerusalem and then all being annihilated is a precondition of the Second Coming. Then they found other common causes too.
somewhere between 10/7 and today, an economic and ideological split happened where the largest donors to a bunch of Jewish community institutions decided that a tidal wave of antisemitism was coming, and also that antisemitism consists exclusively of antizionism. not even Holocaust denial counts.
