I think I can announce it (it's on the website now), but I'm really excited to say that I got the journal cover for the November issue of JCS! The retina is so beautiful, and I'm so happy I get to share that.

Update: I did not know that "Google Drive for Desktop" was a thing. So I downloaded that and am now moving everything over. Easy peasy 😊 (only about 600 GB to transfer 🫠). Thanks all!

OK bsky. I need to back up a shared Google drive. If you download a folder, it zips it according to size, and changes the location of files. E.g., it will download 6 zips, and "Summer Research" will have X number of files in 6 duplicate folders across zips. Is there a way to put things back easily?

Sent hubby a pic of my desk at work and he asked why I had a framed picture of a man. Babe, how much time you got because we're going to get into some LORE 😂

It's a semi-silly but uplifting way to remind myself of how far I've come. Mega props if you know the source. 🧪💅

I haven't read a good book in a long time. Any recommendations? I read multiple genres: horror, science, fiction, non-fiction, nature, etc...The last books I read were the immortal life of henrietta lacks, braiding sweetgrass, and into the planet.

Growing up wildlife aware is wild. Ran into some elk 4/5 through a 5 km loop, so I didn't want to turn around. Made it around them safely.

Ran into a lady a little further along and tried warned her, but she was wearing earbuds. When she finally caught on, she went, "OH WOW! That's so exciting!"

This beaver swam so close to me as I was sitting on the boardwalk, I was almost worried I was going to have to back away. What a nice encounter though.

I dont even remember when, 1 year ago? 2? These people put this abomination on their balcony near a well-used city walking and biking trail.

I thought it was for Halloween, but it's still just there. Existing.

Sooo cool! Congratulations!
15 years in the making, we confirmed that mitochondria - the powerhouse of the cell - have an unusual localization in patients who experience psychosis (including schizophrenia and bipolar disorders). You’ll never guess what kind of patient cells we used to make this discovery… 🧵
