My album Pequod is finally out after 5 years of work. It's a very personal album that meditates on loss, grief, Life, love, and the cycles we find ourselves in. It's influenced by vaporwave, dance music, hip hop, and experimental music.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

I really loved the original sets we've gotten as of late. From Karlov Manor onwards, there's been some great design and flavor added to the Planes. As a hardcore player, I'm so burnt out on all these collabs. I just want original ideas again. This has stopped being fun.

I love that no one sees how insanely intelligent Reality is. If you, the reader, take her seriously, she comes off as a very smart and curious person! The constant French in her internal monologue and the wild references she makes all show the depth bursting inside Reality at any given moment.

Paradise Logic might be one of the most horrifying and funny books I've ever read. Reality Kon (yes that's the main character's name) is totally insane, but I fuckin *get her* in a weird way. I love the way the prose is written. It's a wild stream of consciousness that just can't stop itself.

The B Sides cover does go way harder than Emotion's so she's got good taste

Whenever my partner is sick of me, I don't think she'll ever be with another cis man. I don't blame her lmao. We've talked about how if this doesn't work between us, both of us are going to probably just be in gay relationships forever. This is as good as hetero can get for both of us lol.

One of the women who works at a local bookstore in our area loves my wife and actively mogs me every time we go. She gives me a look like "She is not for you," and I always give her the energy of, "I'm probably the only cis man she's ever had attraction for and that shocks me, too."

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

So we were scrolling through "restorativland" (the Geocities backup repository) and we randomly found Jen Zee's (the art director at Supergiant of Hades 1/2 fame) old Geocities site. Very cool to stumble upon this.

My wife and I talk about the stat that the average video game player is a middle aged woman right now. Phone games changed who is engaging in the space forever. Almost 3 generations were raised in the boom of home consoles. No one gets shoved in lockers over this shit anymore!

100% agree. The actual gaming audience is so vast now, but Gamers™️ have always been the loudest voices in the room. They don't even enjoy games anymore. All they do is yell and complain for the sake of consumption on their own terms. Steam forums are not a majority of who's playing games these days.

I feel like the thing I always find myself thinking when ppl are talking about "oh the gaming audience is awful" is that, like... i'm not sure i believe that so much as I believe that any unmoderated space will inevitably surface the most toxic people (who drive away more-reasonable ones)

I'd love to hear an honest album about her real experience instead of the elaborate fantasy she's constructed around her for decades. Is she able to relate to her fans, or does she struggle to understand them? How does being an elder of pop music weigh on her? I think she's afraid of those answers.
drcornwater.bsky.social
Hearing her be sexual on this latest album tells me a lot about how mature she is mentally. It sounds so jarring to hear a 35 year old billionaire talk like a woman in her late teens to early twenties about her stud of a boyfriend. Like girl there has to be something better to write about at 35!

I think my main critique of Taylor Swift is that she will never feel authentic to me. She got famous so young and wasn't allowed to have a normal adolescence. So she still feels her feelings and writes like the 16 year old she started off as. There is no authentic Taylor, and there never will be.

Also, found this on Goodreads and I'm even more sold on this fucking book
