I really, really, *really* hate how Tolkien is being appropriated by the political right and billionaire edgelords. Tolkien hated Nazis and was at the very least uneasy with the greed he associated with capitalism.

What's our thinking about authors recording audiobook versions of their books themselves, rather than leaving it to professionals?
Da der Historikertag nächsten Monat ansteht und von 76 Sektionen gerade einmal 3 althistorisch sind... mich würde interessieren: Empfinden Althistorikerinnen und Althistoriker den VHD und HT tatsächlich auch als "für sie"? Fühlt man sich zugehörig? Sehen das die anderen Epochen auch so?

Es kann doch nicht sein, dass ich der einzige bin, dem nicht bewusst war, dass die U.S.S. Enterprise (D) eine spezielle Sektion hatte, die als Aquarium für nautische Crewmitglieder gedacht war: zwei Delphine und zwei Wale, alles Navigatoren? Alles canon seit 1996. Wtf.
